My Favorite Passports With Purpose Prizes

By now, you’ve surely checked out Passports With Purpose and learned about this year’s goal of raising $50,000 for LAFTI to build a village in India. Right? It’s OK, I know how holiday stuff can get the better of you—whisking you into a whirlwind of food, family, football and shopping. Just think of this as shopping, of a sort.

Here’s how you do it:

  1. Take a look at the Passports With Purpose list of prizes. They’re broken down into categories: airfares, clothing, electronics, gift certificates, hotels, travel gear, vacation packages and other.
  2. Find your favorite. You don’t have to pick just one. Each $10 donation is an entry. You can spread multiple entries out to as many prizes as you wish.
  3. Get inspired. My ideal prizes may be different than yours, but looking at others’ favorite choices may allow you to see things in a different light. Here are my faves: two-night stay in New Orleans, five-night stay at a Paradise by Marriott resort, Flea ukulele and a four-night city and country getaway in Ireland. I’m a little biased about my absolute favorites—prizes I helped secure—but I promise to stay away so you can have a chance at winning a $250 Snow Angel gift certificate or a $75 Half Moon Bay Kayak Company gift certificate.
  4. Fill in the form. Now that your dream prizes are identified, enter 1 for each entry (remember, an entry represents $10 for LAFTI). When you’re finished, scroll to the bottom of the page, enter your email address and click donate.

It’s that easy. We’re getting close to our goal of $50,000, so help us get over the top by donating! A special note of inspiration: One of PWP’s founders, Michelle Duffy (WanderMom), wrote “What it Means to Have a Home.” Every little bit helps.
